VALORACION DE LA UTILIDAD EN UNA NUEVA BENZODIACEPOINA EN LA SEDACION DE NINOS
1991
We have studied the sedative effects of Midazolam in 39 children admitted in a PICU. Two groups are separated: brief and prolonged sedation. The beginning of the effect after a single dose was achieved in 1,53 ± 0.73 minutes with a maintenance of the action during 13,18 ± 5,09 minutes. In five instances a second dose was required; a case was resistant to three doses. In five patients another dose was utilised to prolonge the action of the drug. Plasmatic concentrations were determined in 8 cases. In four patients adverse effects were observed: 3 respiratory arrest and a dystonic reaction.
