Effect of wolfberry fruit and allicin on macrophage function in mice.

Mice were administered wolfberry extract,a mixture of allicin and wolfberry,allicin capsules,and an extract of fresh allicin numerous times,and then the percent phagocytosis with respect to chicken erythrocytes and phagocytic index of macrophages were measured.Results showed that all the Chinese herbs improved the percent phagocytosis and phagocytic index of macrophages and enhanced the phagocytic function of macrophages and cellular immune function in mice.
