STRUCTURAL TRANSFORMATIONS IN STEEL 12Kh12M1BFR DUE TO HIGH-ENERGY MILLING WITH ADDITIVES OF FULLERENES AND CARBON NANOTUBES

2009
Ferrite-martensite steels, of grade 12Kh12M1FBR in particular, are widely used in industry. Despite their positive properties they have some drawbacks, the first of which is the insufficiently high high-temperature strength. Today researchers are working actively on ways for raising the operating properties of the steel using the methods of powder metallurgy and mechanical alloying among other methods [1 – 3]. Studies of the interaction between metals and carbon nanomaterials are performed in parallel [4, 5]. The aim of the present work consisted in an all-sided investigation of structural changes in powders of rapidly hardened steel 12Kh12M1BFR due to high-energy milling with additives of fullerenes and carbon nanotubes.
