The influence of waveletes on seismic inversion results

1996
To implement a full 3D seismic inversion a wavelet needs to be defined. The wavelet and the seismic inversion method will influence the final acoustic impedance result with regards to both subsurface resolution and absolute acoustic impedance level. As the acoustic impedance results are used to infer more detailed information about the subsurface and to derive porosity that is highly influenced by the acoustic impedance level it is important to be able to evaluate the reliability of the seismic inversion results.
