Effect of metamorphism on the grindability of coals under impact action

The grindability of coals in impact mills was studied depending on coal rank. With the use of coals of grades D, K, and T as an example, the efficiency of dispersion to a size of 20 μm was evaluated, and it was found that grindability increased with the degree of metamorphism to reach the greatest value for coals of grade T.
