Electric annual peak load forecasting based on fuzzy systems

This paper presents the application of fuzzy systems to long term annual peak load forecasting. The proposed technique takes into account the uncertainties in the nature of the peak load. Different factors are taking into consideration on modeling the peak load. These including, the gross domestic population (GDP),the population (POP), the GDP/POP, the multiplication of the consumption of electricity and population (EP), the system losses (PL), and the rate of sale of electricity (RS) (the tariff). Finally, the time in question is considered. Different fuzzy models that relate the variables with the peak load are developed. An Example for estimating the peak load, for the Egyptian Unified Network (EUN), to explain the main features of the proposed algorithm, is offered in the text.
