Shiga toxin E. coli hemolytic uremic syndrome (STEC-HUS) is a severe acute illness for which there is no specific treatment and among supportive care, fluid management is traditionally concentrated on preventing fluid overload because the patients often present with oligo/anuric acute kidney injury.
