In these days, an education system of architectural engineering departments pursues hands-on education and application so that students actively participates in academic conferences, contests, and competitions. With the conference of Architecture Institute of Korea as the central one, various professional conferences held by many institutions represent unique features of the field and organization. However, apart from the fundamental purpose of these conferences, there is a possibility that they can be misused by those who only aim for getting awards due to competitive features of current employment market. Therefore, for the improvement of these academic conferences, they should set clear objectives for self-initiated, major-customized, and globally acknowledged conferences that can reflect timely trends.
