UDC 677,022.786 More than 95% of the man-made fibres which are produced in the developed countries are produce d in texturized form [1]. Texturized combination yarns are finding wide application in the textile and tricotage industries for producing goods for the national demands. Combining the technical properties of viscose yarn with the high strength and elasticity of synthetic yarns makes it possible to prepare new yarns with a valuable set of operating characteristics instead of natural yarns and fibres and, consequently, to diversify the assortment of finished articles. Over the whole world, interest has arisen in the preparation of combined texturized yarns by the aerodynamic method. The basic technological process for preparing texturized yarns is the aerodynamic texturizing device (ATD), which in the end also determines the quality of the texturized yarn. At present, a large number of diverse ATD has been developed, which in character of interaction of the airstream with the yarn, may be divided into two groups. In the first group are devices in which the compressed air interacts with the yarn with lengthwise passage by it in a converging-diffuser channel. The principal company which makes devices of this type is the Dupont company (USA). The ATD developed by the VNIILTEKMASh also belong to this type. The main developer of devices of the second group is the Haberlein company (Switzerland). In aerodynamic devices of this group, compressed air is fed into the yarn-conducting channel at a definite angle through one or several nozzles. In the interaction of a turbulent airstream with the yarn in the described types of devices, a loosening and separation of the bundle into elementary filaments takes place, plus twisting and displacement. However, the main function of the ATD is kink formation or cohesion of the elementary filaments before the deflector.
