Study on Biosorption of Pb~(2+) by Beer Yeast

The biosorbent was prepared from beer yeast for Pb~(2+).The factors,including pH,concentration of Pb~(2+),adsorption time,yeast concentration and metal ion concentration,which can influence the uptake capacity for Pb~(2+),were studied.The results showed when pH value was 5,Pb~(2+) concentration was 80 mg·L~(-1),yeast concentration was 1.0 g·L~(-1) and adsorption time was 0.5 h,biosorbent effect was the best.The initial Pb~(2+) concentration was proved to be prominent factor in the process by orthogonal experiments.
