What's Your Ideal Online Short-Term Accommodation? Demand Mining for Chinese Tourists

2019
The number of Chinese citizens traveling abroad is increasing year by year. Since the introduction of the concept of online short rent in China in 2010, the demand of Chinese tourists for online short rent is on the rise. This article is dedicated to exploring the needs of Chinese tenants in five districts of New York, Paris, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. This paper uses python language to crawl about 130,000 comments on Airbnb as the basic data of this study, from which Chinese guest comments were extracted. A two-dimensional analytical dimension was designed based on the selection results and the feature words were classified into tables. Finally, the demand map is drawn according to the two-dimensional demand table. Through the research, we find that the Chinese tenant's needs can be divided into three aspects: internal environment, external environment and cultural needs. It enables foreign landlords to provide better living environment for Chinese tenants, and at the same time, it can gain more benefits, and also enable Chinese tenants to have better living experience in foreign countries.
