Clinical analysis of modified radical mastectomy of stage I and II breast carcinoma

Objective To summarize the experience of modified radical mastectomy of stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ breast carci noma.Mechods 42 cases of stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ breast carcinoma were cured by Auchinloss operation and chemotherapy of FAC regimen and some of them were additionally treated with radiotherapy or endocrinotherapy.Results Two patients died,6 experienced liquid under flap,and 2 suffered from flap or flap edge necrosis.The 5-year survival rate was 92.9%.Half a year later,10 cases experienced atrophy of affected side's musculus pectoral major and upper extremities hypokines.Conclusion To improve postoperative living quality,blood supply vessels and motornerves of musculus pectoral major should be better protected in the process of modifying radical mastectomy of breast cancer.
