Thermoplastic molding compositions containing DOLLAR AA) 5 to 96 wt .-% of a polyester DOLLAR AB) 1 to 30 wt .-% of a nitrogen compound DOLLAR AC) 1 to 30 wt .-% of a flame retardant combination of DOLLAR AC¶1¶) 0.1 to 40 wt .-% based on C) a phosphorus compound of the formula I wherein R DOLLAR F1 · 1 · R · 2 · R · and · 3 identical or different alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl or cycloalkyl groups of 8 to 40 C mean -atoms, or triphenyl phosphate, triphenylphosphine sulfide or mixtures thereof and DOLLAR AC¶2¶) 60 to 99.9 wt .-% of a phosphorus compound of the formula II DOLLAR F2 in which the substituents have the following meanings: DOLLAR AR x 4 x -R · 7 · an aromatic radical having 6 to 20 carbon atoms, preferably a phenyl radical which methyl may be substituted by alkyl groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, preferably, DOLLAR AR * 8 * a dihydric phenol, preferably DOLLAR F3 or DOLLAR F4 and n represents an average between 0.1 to 100, DOLLAR AD) 0 to 5 wt .-% slightest ns an ester or amide of saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acids having 10 to 40 carbon atoms with saturated aliphatic alcohols or amines having from 2 to 40 carbon atoms DOLLAR AE) 0 to 60 wt .-% of other additives, DOLLAR A wherein the sum of the percentages by weight the components A) to e) is 100%.
