Microbial Degradation Of Phenol Using P.aeruginosa (NCIM 2074)

2014
Phenol and its derivatives are most commonly found in wastewaters of many pharmaceutical, refinery, synthetic chemicals, paper and pulp industry and many such industries pose loads of adversities to aquatic, terrestrial and human life. These run off components are mandatory to be treated before being released into the food chain. Though many chemical procedures exist to treat phenols, biological degradation is a much safer and simpler means.
