Current Status of the Technology Development Project for a New Storable Propellant Upper Stage Engine Demonstrator

FLPP Storable is a technology demonstration project with the main objective of readying the technologies for a development application for a pressure fed, medium thrust engine with a thrust level of 5 kN and a chamber pressure of 15 bar. The FLPP Storable project aims at increasing the technology readiness level needed to conduct potential future development and qualification programmes. Applied technologies have to show scalability within a thrust range of 3…8 kN to ensure the broad applicability of investigated technologies. The final goal of the FLPP Storable project is the successful hot-firing of the full-scale demonstrator hardware. This paper gives an overview of the current status of the project, after finishing subscale activities within a Set 1 and now targeting full-scale activities within Set 2.
