Visualizing current flow in high-Tc superconductors

1994
To improve critical current density (Jc) in bulk high-critical-temperature superconductors, the nature of current flow must be understood. This article reports on two techniques that directly show how inhomogeneous current flow is. Laser slicing and magneto-optical imaging show that regions of Jc higher than previously reported that exist in even average quality prototype.
