Liquid–Liquid Equilibria for the Methyl Tert-Butyl Ketone + Phenol + Water Ternary System at 298.15, 313.15 and 323.15 K
2015
In this work, liquid–liquid equilibria data for the methyl tert-butyl ketone (MTBK) + phenol + water ternary system at 298.15, 313.15 and 323.15 K, under atmospheric pressure, were measured. The experimental tie-line data’s reliability was verified by the Hand and Bachman equations. The distribution coefficient, together with the selectivity, was used to assess the extraction performance of MTBK. The experimental data were correlated with the nonrandom two-liquid and universal quasi-chemical activity coefficient models to yield binary interaction parameters for relevant process simulations.
