A presença de disciplinas voltadas ao projeto de espaços livres de lazer urbano nos cursos de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Região Sul do Brasil

This article reflects on the teaching of the design of free urban leisure and recreation spaces. With discussions on the creation and understanding of free spaces since the 1930s and 1940s, and with the institutionalization, since 1994, of the discipline of landscaping and landscape design in Brazilian Architecture and Urbanism courses, urban free spaces gain the equivalent importance that, until then, was only attributed to the built space. Thus, there is room for analysis of the constitution of the design disciplines in the curriculum of courses in Architecture and Urbanism in the Southern Region of Brazil, to understand the presence of projects for free urban leisure spaces.
