The paper considers the possibility of creating a highly filled polymer composites based on polystyrene matrix and a silicone filler. The dependence of the mechanical and surface properties of the composites of the filler content. The paper presents data on the density, elastic modulus, surface microstructure and microhardness Vickers developed composites with different filler content. The optimum composition of the material, which has the best functionality, which contains 60 % of the filler in the composite. The introduction of the proposed vehicle (60 %) greatly reduces the temperature of operation of the composite (up to -170 o C), with damage only the surface layer to a depth of 10 m. With the introduction of the filler also increases the upper limit of the life of the material. If pure polystyrene maximum temperature limit of 100 ° C, the introduction of a filler increases this temperature to 160 ° C. Further research will focus on composites to study the influence of factors of near space to change the original function.
