Sabanilla: un asentamiento del Posclásico entre el río y las lagunas de Tabasco

2010
The discovery of archaeological materials during construction of an electrical transmission line in the municipality of Centro Tabasco made it possible to locate the site of Sabanilla and to recover a qualitatively important sample of materials corresponding to the Postclassic period. The results of classification and analysis of these materials reflect a means of subsistence principally based on aquatic resources from marshes and rivers. These bodies of water played a decisive role in the cultural exchange of these Maya groups, bearing a pottery tradition related to Anaranjada Matillas wares and occupying the lower basin of La Sierra River in Tabasco.
