Притауйский гидрологический фронт осенью 19992004 гг.

Year-to-year variability of temperature, salinity, wind-driven and geostrophic currents at sea surface and in subsurface layer are analyzed for the area of the Tauya frontal zone in the northern Okhotsk Sea on the base of TINRO surveys data obtained in autumn of 19992004. The external boundary of the Tauya frontal zone is the natural limit of herring feeding grounds in June-December. Temperature of the subsurface and bottom shelf waters had a positive trend and changed from the minimum in 1999 to the maximum in 2004. Accordingly, the Tauya front shifted westward that caused an extending the feeding grounds of herring.
