Effect of scattering on radiometer measurements of attenuation in rain

1973
Calculations have been made that take into account the effect of scattering by rain when computing attenuation from aerial temperatures measured with radiometers. Results for the frequency range 37?110 GHz show that attenuation can be significantly underestimated if it is assumed to arise solely from absorption.
