Reflections of Neatness and Simplicity in C-E Prose Translation

The harmony is the condensation of Chinese and western aesthetic ideals.Different pursuits of the harmony produce different aesthetics and different views of language:Chinese aesthetics stresses "harmony" while western aesthetics "simplicity";Chinese emphasizes on "beauty of neatness" while English "beauty of simplicity".This paper takes literary prose as the research object and explores how Chinese prose reflects its beauty in both original version and English version respectively from the respects of duplicated words,four-word sentences,antithesis,parallelism and repetition,as well as how aesthetic qualities are transferred.
