Mass and charge transfers in the reaction 14N + 169Tm and 14N + 174Yb at 30 MeV / n

1986
Abstract Particle- γ and particle-K X-ray coincidence methods have been used to identify the residual nuclei in the asymmetrical heavy-ion reactions 14 N + 169 Tm and 14 N + 174 Yb. The usefulness of this technique, at the intermediate bombarding energy of 30 MeV / n, is proved. The results are compared with the incomplete fusion reaction model. The difference observed between the experimental and theoretical charge distributions are tentatively attributed to the sequential decay of the projectile-like fragments not taken into account by the model.
