The diaphragm discharge and its use for water treatment
2008
The article has investigated the properties of a diaphragm discharge created in tap water and in aqueous solutions and a possibility of using such a discharge for purifying polluted water. The diaphragm discharge whose plasma destroys the structure of water pollutants was obtained by inputting the 12 kV to the openings in a glass-cloth-base laminate diaphragm immersed in water or a solution. Oscillograms and electronic pictures of the discharge show the possibility to control its duration and power for oxidizing water purification of water of organic pollutants. It has been found that simultaneous water scavenging with air enhances the purifying effect of the diaphragm discharge.
