Influence of high rate quenching on the properties of binary lead alloys

1984
Abstract The effect of the rate at which the melt is cooled on the structure, phase composition, hardness, magnetic properties and superconducting transition temperature of Pb-M alloys (M  Al, As, Bi, C, Ga, Ge, Fe, In, Nb, Sb, Si, Sn, V, Cu and Zn) was determined. A marked influence on these properties was observed, particularly at cooling rates above 10 4 °C s −1 .
