A design of dual band 90° polarization using chiral metamaterial based on four “V” resonators

In this paper, we propose a chiral metamaterial structure that enables a dual-band 90° polarization rotator effect. The bilayered chiral metamaterial is composed by twisted different size “V” antenna resonators in four-fold rotation symmetry. Analysis also shows that such asymmetric twist structure can contribute to the induced asymmetric transmission which support strong optical activity. By scaling down the metamaterial structure, the concept can also be utilized at other frequency bands, such as submillimeter or even terahertz band.
