Light resistance of bromine-containing polyphenylene-oxadiazole fibres

It was shown that incorporation of bromine in the aromatic rings of POD increases the light resistance of fibres. The effect of increasing the light resistance of bromine-containing POD fibres is due to quenching of the photoexcited triplet state of the polymer macromolecules by bromine.
