Global DNA methylation among premenopausal ever married Liangmai women of Manipur, India

Abstract Aim The purpose of the present study is to understand the association between global DNA methylation and cardiovascular adversities in light of Bad obstetric history. Methods The participants included women with normal pregnancy history and women with history of pregnancy complications. Fating blood sample (5 ml) was drawn from the participants followed by DNA extraction, lipid profile and global DNA methylation. Results Hypomethylation was observed among women with history of normal pregnancy and abnormal lipids and higher methylation levels were observed among women with Bad obstetric history and abnormal lipids. Conclusion The present study indicates an association between altered global methylation and dyslipidemia as well as pregnancy complications.
