A Design of Automatic Photovoltaic Pollutant Mitigation Device Based on Fuzzy Logic Controller

2021
Availability of electricity is decreasing over time and it is difficult to obtain because the natural resources used are non-renewable resources such as oil and coal. Therefore, renewable energy sources are needed as a source of electrical energy for human survival. As is well known that electricity generation by utilizing sunlight is called solar cells or photovoltaics. The problem is that the dust pollutants make up a smaller percentage of the total dirt on the solar panels, but they can result in a large loss of electrical energy. Therefore, an analysis tool capable as mitigation system the effect of pollutants or pollution on photovoltaics is needed to increase the energy generated on the dust-covered photovoltaic surface. The analysis refers to the dust that is read by the dust detection sensor and the color detection sensor. The proposed model of pollutant mitigation device control, is based on Fuzzy Logic Control. The comparison of the power generated in a solar module with and without mitigation device in the same area can be analyzed. The results shows that the comparison of the power generated by solar panels with and without the photovoltaic module basic pollutant mitigation device can increase the power increase generated by solar panels up to 8.47% on the object of research solar panel of 250 watt-peak.
