Acoustic flowmeter field test results

1991
Presentation of a newly developed borehole acoustic flowmeter. It can provide data to locate depth precisely and to quantify gas production from individual gas entries, even when they are spaced closely together, for low-flow-rate gas-producing zones in a typical Devonian shale well in the Appalachian basin. Data from a field test, along with the measurement theory involved are presented. A comparison to a conventional spinner flowmeter on the same well is also presented.
