PAPR Minimization of Clipped OFDM Signals Using Tangent Rooting Companding Technique

2019
In this paper, we present a novel PAPR minimization technique which is based on combined tangent rooting companding and clipping. The tangent rooting companding is used to compress the amplitude of large peaks and enlarges the amplitude of small peaks OFDM signals by adjusting the parameters. The proposed technique offers a good PAPR reduction with low complexity compared with other companding techniques such as μ-law, A-law, exponential and tangent rooting companding. However, the performance of bit error rate of the proposed technique is reasonable over an additive white Gaussian noise channel.
