Effect of reaction conditions of some synthetic sulfonated phenol formaldehyde polycondensate on the fluidity of cement pastes

2006
Sulfonated phenolic polymers were prepared by three different reaction conditions; the structures of the prepared compounds were investigated by different spectroscopic techniques. The effect of these materials on the fluidity of cement pastes were evaluated through determining the slump and theological properties of the cement pastes admixed with different doses of prepared polymers; the obtained results indicates that i) this polymer has liquefying effect on the OPC cement, this depends on the dose and reaction conditions of the prepared polymers, ii) addition of this polymer to the cement paste reduces its shear stress, yield stress, plastic viscosity and minislump values.
