2004
Symptoms, ethiology, epidemiology and ecology, diagnosis and control measures of emerging bacterial diseases of pome fruits, walnut, grapevine, hazelnut, strawberry, potato, bean, pepper, cultivated mushrooms belonging to the genera Agaricus and Pleurotus in Italy are described. Emerging diseases can be referred to new diseases, due to the introduction of already described pathogens responsible of epidemic outbreaks, syndromes never described and/or diseases whose causal agents are not clearly defined, associated to quarantine organisms occasionally intercepted or responsible of outbreaks in the field, and to old diseases, caused by endemic pathogens, also quarantine ones, responsible of disease outbreaks
