Radiofrequency ablation of supraventricular and atrioventricular tachyarrhythmias

1991
Most symptomatic supraventricular and atrioventricular tachyarrhythmias can be treated with antiarrhythmic drugs. Especially with the use of newer antiarrhythmic agents such as flecainide, propafenone and amiodarone a significant number of patients can be effectively treated. However, some patients can not be controlled by antiarrhythmic drug therapy or do not accept life-long therapy. Over the past ten years, electrode catheters mostly used for diagnostic tools have been introduced for therapeutic purposes.
