Text al-Barzanji is an Arabian literary works which is containing the history of the Prophet Rasulullah SAW, is written by Ja�far al-barzanji. In Arabian literature, the writing is categorized as a kind of adoration to the prophet (maddah nabawi). The research of Text al-Barzanji is aimed to understand the response of Riau Malayan people toward Text al-Barzanji both in oral and literal, which it is a form of Arabian culture transformation to Riau Malayan people. In order to reach the goal of the research, the theory of reception is used as a major theory and also orality and ethnomusicology as a supporting theory. The approach of reception is applied to find out the forms of literary works� response. The response upon al-Barzanji of Riau Malayan is proved by the discovery of various versions adaptation text of al Barzanji. The approach of orality is used to describe the response of Riau Malayan upon the al-Barzanji in oral tradition, whether in performing art, while the approach of ethnomusicology is used to describe the form Barzanji of Riau Malayan when it is performed. On the base of the result of the analysis, the response of Riau Malayan upon Text al-Barzanji in oral tradition creates three different versions of adaptation texts, which are Abubakar Ya�kub, Muhammad zuhri
