Multi-model Based Actuator Fault Accommodation Scheme for Flight Control Systems

2009
A stable adaptive control reconfiguration approach is developed based on multiple models for flight control systems with various unknown actuator faults.Typical faults of actuators in flight control systems described by second-order dynamics are considered and the fault diagnosis algorithms are derived.A series of multiple models(observers)are designed to describe the dynamics of faulty systems. With the designed adaptive reconfiguration controllers, according to Lyapunov theorem,it has been proved that the tracking error tends to zero asymptotically, and the faulty system response, despite the actuator faults, converges toward that of reference model. An aircraft example is illustrated to indicate the performance of the proposed fault diagnosis scheme.
