Pemacuan Apoptosis oleh Fraksi Kloroform Kulit Batang Bruguiera gymnorhiza pada Sel Kanker Rahim HeLa (Apoptotic Induction by Chloroform Fraction from Stem Bark of Bruguiera gymnorhiza to the Cervix Cancer on HeLa Cells)

Bruguiera gymnorhiza is one of the mangrove plant that has not been widely studi ed as a potential anti cancer. Previous research has suggested that the methanol extract of stem bark of B. gymnorhiza was cytotoxic against HeLa cells. The purpose ofthis study was to determine the cytotoxic effect and llPoptosis induction of chloroform fraction from the stem bark of B. gymnorhiza on HeLa cells. The results showed that the chloroform fraction has a cytotoxic activity with IC50 of 134 ug/ml, and the double staining test indicated the presence of cells undergoing apoptosis. Based on these results, chloroform fraction of stem bark of B. gymnorhiza is cytotoxic with the mechanism of apoptosis.
