Introduction: Abduction, so frequent in our country, has been scarcely approached from a clinical perspective. It is likely that the dynamics of silence established around this issue within the family favor somatic expressions. Objective: To refl ect on the infl uence the abduction has after it has ended. Method: Qualitative analysis of the implications abduction has on a family, through a process of family therapy. Results and conclusion: the infl uence the abduction exerts on the family does not end with the release or with immediate psychotherapy.
