Doping (TaSe4)2I with Manganese

Abstract We have measured the Peierls transition temperature T c , the threshold field for deipinning the charge density wave E c and E.P.R. spectra at 10 GHz and analyzed Atomic Absorption measurements of (TaSe 4 ) 2 I doped with 2% Mn in samples grown with changing the excess iodine in the blister. Our results show that Mn ions enter the structure in two different states (cluster and isolated ions) and that isolated ions enter in very small quantities (approx. 1 ppm).
