PALLADIUM CONTAINING CATALYST, METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME, AND METHOD OF PRODUCING α,β-UNSATURATED CARBOXYLIC ACID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for producing α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid from alcohol, olefin or α,β-unsaturated aldehyde with high productivity, a method of producing the catalyst, and a method of producing α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid. SOLUTION: The palladium containing catalyst for producing α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid from alcohol, olefin or α,β-unsaturated aldehyde includes: palladium and zirconium as catalyst constituting elements; and 0.001-0.8 mol of zirconium element as opposed to palladium element 1 mol. Preferably, the palladium containing catalyst includes tellurium as a catalyst constituting element. In this catalyst, it is preferable that a catalyst constituting element is carried by a carrier.
