Method for eye detection based on single infrared light supply

2011
The invention discloses a method for the eye detection based on a single infrared light source, relating to the technical field of image processing. The method comprises the following steps of: firstly acquiring bright pupil images by using an infrared shooting device, and executing threshold processing on the bright pupil images to acquire binary images; calibrating communication areas on the binary images to obtain a size range and a position of the center of mass of each communication area; removing communication areas not containing eye shapes in a filtering manner to obtain eye candidate areas; and classifying eyes in the eye candidate areas by a support vector machine to obtain the classified candidate areas, and sequentially identifying the eyes in each classified candidate area by a shape detector to select an eye area from the candidate areas. The invention quickly realizes the eye location and extracts eye related parameters with the help of simple hardware and eye characteristics under the condition of ensuring the accuracy of the eye detection.
