Arylations of Substituted Enamides by Aryl Iodides: Regio- and Stereoselective Synthesis of (Z)-β-Amido-β-Arylacrylates.

The use of the unusual catalyst system PdCl2(cod)/Ag3PO4 and the assistance of a directing carbonyl group allow the highly regio- and stereoselective reaction of enamides with aryl iodides to give the corresponding (Z)-products.
