Operational Use Of A Marine Riser Joint

An instrumented marine riser joint has been in service for some years. This paper provides a technical description of the system; data comparing riser stresses with environmental conditions based on recordings made during operational use on site; and a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of the unit.
