Factors and nursing countermeasures of dyssomnia after abdominal surgery of senile patients

Objective To analyze the factors of dyssomnia after abdominal surgery of senile patients, explore some targeted nursing approaches to improve sleeping quality of patients. Methods To dissect the factors by investigating the 62 senile patients of dyssomnia after abdominal surgery admitted in our department during the period of October 2012 to October 2012 by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, as well as analyzing the self-administrated questionnaire on these patients. Results The factors which influenced the sleep quality of these 62 senile patients were aging, surgical injury and anaesthesia, aches, environmental factor and psychological factor. By nursing managements such as perioperative nursing, comfort care, psychological nursing and medications, satisfactory results were obtained. Conclusions The sleep quality can be highly improved and the patients can be speedily recovered by some targeted nursing approaches after clearly finding out the reasons of dyssomnia after abdominal surgery of senile patients.
