Review on Microwave Circuits for Telemedicine Applications

2020
Telemedicine is the remote diagnosis and treatment of patients with the help of wireless communications technology. It reduces cost, time and resources. In this review, an overview of telemedicine and the concept of telemedicine system are discussed which covers the wireless technologies that are used in telemedicine along with its operating frequencies. The transmission of different biomedical data from patient's body to the hospitals are also studied. The principle of a wearable ECG (Electrocardiogram) signal and its noise sources are also discussed. The different circuits which are used to eliminate these noises are also discussed. The principle of operation of power amplifier in transmitter design and low noise ampplifier (LNA) in receiver design are also studied. The operating frequencies and different parameters which are used in these microwave components are also discussed.
