Reconstructive Surgery in Oral and Maxillofacial Region

2021
The reconstruction of oral and maxillofacial defects is challenging. Several treatment options are available for reconstruction of the maxillofacial region. Primary closure, secondary intention healing, tissue expanders, skin graft, local and distant flaps, and free vascular osteocutaneous flaps can be used. In this chapter, the main approaches for restoration of the soft and hard tissues are discussed.
