MARDİN SANCAĞINDA MÜLKİ VE ASKERİ MEMURLARIN GÖREV SUİSTİMALLERİ ÜZERİNE BİR DEĞERLENDİRME (1900-1920)

Mardin had the administrative status of a sanjak affiliated to Diyarbekir Province from the second half of the 19th century until the establishment of the republic. The arrangements that increased centralization in the modern sense in the Tanzimat Era in the Ottoman Empire were also reflected in the civil and military fields. The change in the administrative organization was also effective in the emergence of new civil services. The duties and responsibilities of civil servants are determined separately with the laws introduced. Among the civil servants appointed throughout the empire, there were civil servants who performed their duties properly, though there were quite many misconducted. This study aims to evaluate varied wrongful acts by the civil and military officers serving in Mardin as the centre of the Sanjak and in affiliated Cizre, Midyat, Nusaybin and Savur districts in the beginning of the 20th century incompatible with public service such as corruption, irregularity and bribery.
