Magnetic resonance imaging system and methods for operating a patient support apparatus in a magnetic resonance imaging system

The invention provides a magnetic resonance imaging system with a patient support device (1), on which a support plate (2) mounted horizontally displaceable. The plant has an electromotive, stand-less drive device (3) on which the support plate (2) moves horizontally, with the drive device (3) has a durchfliesbaren with electric current rotor (4) connected to the support plate (2) is in operative connection, wherein when a current flows through the rotor (4) of the rotor (4) by the static magnetic field (B →) of the magnetic resonance imaging system is set into motion. An associated method of operation for moving a patient support device in the magnetic resonance imaging system is also given. The invention provides the advantage that an existing magnetic field for moving a patient to be used in the magnetic resonance imaging system and thereby can be omitted when the electromotive drive of the stator.
