Lesões faciais em mulheres vítimas de violência doméstica: uma revisão narrativa da literatura

Domestic violence is a thematic that has become increasingly prominent, since it is not only a matter of sociocultural concern but also a public health problem with global proportions. Regarding domestic violence, gender violence is a category that includes domestic and intrafamily violence. During the episodes of aggression several body areas are affected, head and neck regions are the most affected ones, causing extra and intraoral lesions. The objective of the present study is to report the prevalence of facial lesions in women victims of domestic violence through a narrative literature review surching at databases of Pubmed, Google Scholar, Scielo, Bireme, Lilacs and Medline from august 2017 to july 2018. The present study provided data that corroborates that domestic violence has become an important etiological factor of facial lesions, becoming a public health problem.
